Supporting CCA Students Through Transition

Supporting CCA Students Through Transition

We are deeply saddened by the recent announcement that California College of the Arts (CCA), after more than 120 years of educating artists and designers, will no longer admit or educate future generations. CCA’s legacy has profoundly shaped the creative landscape, and its absence will be felt throughout the art and design community.

In keeping with our mission and values, Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD) is committed to supporting CCA students impacted by this change. We are proud to offer a streamlined, supportive transfer pathway that allows students to continue their education and graduate on time.

Why LCAD

Laguna College of Art + Design is proud to share that a new report by the Department of Education highlights LCAD as a national leader in both affordability and post-graduation earnings among the 30 undergraduate degree–granting members of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD).

In addition to being a top choice in affordability and post-grad earnings, LCAD is also ranked amongst the top art and design colleges in the United States for its rigorous programs taught by industry-working faculty, and close industry connections throughout all of its majors.

The Transfer Process

A Streamlined Transfer Experience

We understand how disruptive and stressful this transition can be. To reduce barriers and provide clarity, LCAD offers the following transfer support for CCA students:

  • Scholarship consideration designed with the intent to meet, or where possible exceed, a student’s current level of net scholarship at CCA (LCAD is the most affordable AICAD member institution in California)
  • Dedicated admissions support from Jason Umfress, Senior Admissions Counselor, to guide you through every stage of the decision-making process
  • Free online application
  • Waived application essay requirements
  • International student support, including assistance with transferring your I-20
