Introduction

The BFA in Game Development offers an immersive, four-year curriculum where students will build the skills necessary to thrive in fast-paced creative industries. Under the guidance of industry-experienced faculty, students will gain hands-on experience creating both the visual and interactive elements of games, designing new features and mechanics, and working efficiently on teams. All Game Development students will work in small teams to make a game by the end of their first year as well as being a team member on undergraduate and graduate student-owned projects that will be showcased and launched upon completion. Working in state-of-the-art facilities with a collaborative environment, students will build a robust portfolio of industry-ready work, culminating in a Capstone project that showcases their individual expertise.

About the program

As a graduate of LCAD’s Game Development program, you will be multi-disciplined, team-minded, industry-ready, and employable in any studio, style, or software environment. Students can choose between two tracks: Game Art and Game Design.

Under the leadership of Jason Oualine, Game Development program Chair, LCAD’s Game Development faculty combines a rich mix of industry expertise and academic experience. Their credits span major franchises such as World of Warcraft, Destiny 2, Call of Duty, and Deadpool. With a strong focus on real-world application, students learn from industry professionals who bring cutting-edge techniques and valuable insights to the classroom, preparing them for success in the dynamic game development industry.
