Community Engagement Overview

When students attend Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD), they don't just become a student, they become an active part of the diverse laguna beach community.

LCAD Community Engagement

One of the nation’s top non-profit colleges of art + design, LCAD offers students a range of employment and volunteer opportunities. Through our Career Services and our Student Life departments LCAD students can and do get involved in the Laguna Beach community. From cleaning our local beaches to community arts education, from working in local non-profit organizations and to supporting local humanitarian efforts, the LCAD community does just about anything they can to benefit the community of Laguna Beach.

LCAD is also deeply committed to being a good partner with our community and is actively involved in working with our community organizations to provide services such as parking during the summer, meeting spaces for organizations to convene, exhibition spaces, a library, and public art for all to enjoy. Our students, faculty, staff, and alumni are involved as residents, employees, community volunteers, and patrons. LCAD’s Board of Trustees consists largely of residents and business owners from Laguna Beach who are active in making their community a wonderful place. The College continually works hard to be an essential part of the cultural fabric of Laguna Beach and Orange County. LCAD strengthens this relationship by offering opportunities for involvement and allowing students to earn credit for service learning—benefiting both students and the local community.
