Description

This comprehensive watercolor workshop will guide students from foundational basics – including brushes, paper and pigments, to advanced creative expression. Participants will master color mixing and techniques like flat, graded and wet-into-wet washes through hands-on projects and exercises. Working from life, photos and imagination, the students will expand their skills in transparent watercolor. As students advance they will be encouraged to develop personal projects, build technical mastery, gain confidence and have a good time!

Students of all levels of experience are welcome. Suggested materials List (below).

Priority Pigments:
Winsor Yellow
Raw Sienna or Yellow Ochre
Alizarin Crimson
Light Red or Burnt Sienna
French Ultramarine Blue
Thalo Blue or Winsor Blue
Thalo Green or Winsor Green
Permanent Sap Green
Neutral Tint

Brushes:

One Large Round Brush – ½” Wide
One Small Round Brush – ¼” Wide
One “Hake” OR Large Flat Brush – 2” Wide

Paper:

140 lb Cold Press Block, 20 sheets 12”x16”
Watercolor Palette with a cover and mixing wells:
Matterson Aqua-Pro Palette or Richeson Watercolor Palette

Gouache (Winsor & Newton, Gamblin, Holbein or brands of similar quality):

Permanent White
