Animation

Introduction

LCAD’s Animation program blends tradition and innovation, empowering students to explore the full spectrum of animated storytelling.

The BFA in Animation is a studio-focused program rooted in strong traditional training while embracing new approaches to the art of animation. Students pursue one of two distinct tracks, Character Animation or Experimental Animation, to explore a broad range of creative skills and techniques.

Students are encouraged to develop their personal voice, take creative risks, and grow as inventive storytellers and creators of motion with meaning. The curriculum supports both a strong technical foundation and a bold artistic vision, fostering a community united by curiosity, passion, and a deep commitment to the art of animation.

About the program

The LCAD Animation teaches the art of creating not only motion, but emotion over time; as well as cutting-edge techniques and skillsets. Students can choose between two Animation tracks: Character Animation and Experimental Animation.
