Description
This 6-week workshop is an introduction to direct oil painting working from observation and photographic references. It offers both technical training and space for creative exploration. Students will learn the essential materials and techniques in oil painting, with an emphasis on color theory and composition design. Students will receive individualized instruction and are encouraged to work at their own pace. Students of all skill levels are welcome.

- Brushes: (Synthetic or Bristle)
- Flats: sizes 4, 6, 8
- Rounds: sizes 2, 4
- Filbert: sizes 6, 8
- Have a variety of sizes and shapes — feel free to add other sizes
- Surfaces:
- Primed panels or canvases (prestretched or canvas board)
- Sizes:
- 9×12” — 3 surfaces
- 11×14” — 2 surfaces
- 12×16” — 1 surface
- Mediums & Solvents:
- Gamsol or Mineral Spirits
- Linseed oil
- Palette:
- Glass palette no smaller than 11×14”
- Other Supplies:
- Palette knife
- Paint scraper knife
- Brush cleaner container with lid (preferably air-tight)
- Small oil medium container / palette cup
- Blue paper towels / shop towels
- Drawing supplies and sketchbook
