Students will explore the selection of game engines, gaining insights into their strengths and weaknesses to make informed decisions when choosing the right engine for specific projects. The course will involve hands-on experience by building a project in the Unity game engine, followed by recreating the same project in Godot and Unreal Engine. This practical approach will highlight the core differences between these engines, emphasizing unique features, workflows, and design philosophies. Through lectures and practical exercises, students will develop a comprehensive understanding of how to select and utilize game engines effectively, equipping them with the skills needed to navigate the diverse landscape of game development tools.
