National Portfolio Day
NATIONAL PORTFOLIO DAY SAN DIEGO – 2023
National Portfolio Days are free educational events for young artists. This is an opportunity to have college representatives review your artwork, offer critiques, and share information about their schools. These events are not an exam or a competition—representatives are interested in your progress and in providing helpful information about this next important step in your development as an artist. You are encouraged to meet with as many representatives as possible.
No admissions decisions or scholarships will be offered at National Portfolio Days. Some representatives may accept the portfolio you present as the visual portion of your application, but many may not. All expect that your artwork will progress in the months following the event.
WHAT TO BRING
Portfolios should include 12-20 pieces of a student’s best and most recent work, but can also include works in progress, sketchbooks, and tear sheets—it is not necessary to mat or framed work. Students should bring original artwork whenever possible, and keep their presentation simple, as the work itself is what is important. WIFI is not provided so please plan accordingly.
