What Is Game Jam?
Join this thrilling 48-hour showdown where creativity and innovation meet competition! Participants will be divided into teams and challenged to design and develop an original video game from scratch, based on the supplied theme. Hosted by LCAD’s game programs at their beautiful Big Bend campus in Laguna Beach, this event pushes the limits of both imagination and fun.
Industry professionals from local game studios will mentor students offering hands-on guidance as they blaze through the entire development pipeline in just two days. Last year, nearly 80 students from different schools across southern California converged to join in on the fun.

Game Jam 2023
Laguna College of Art + Design Annual Game Jam event matches students from LCAD and local surrounding colleges in a 48 hour campus takeover to create a small game around a provided theme. This year, the theme was Tricks and Treats as students raced around the clock to incorporate the prompt into their gameplay.
