course

CW100

Course Credit:  3

This course offers 1–3 units of intensive, student-driven study in Liberal Arts. It is not an independent study version of an existing course but follows a graduate-style model, allowing students to pursue specialized research with faculty mentorship. Students must be in good academic standing, secure an instructor’s approval, and propose a study focus. If approved, the instructor tailors assignments, workload, and learning outcomes. A three-unit course typically includes five books and 5,000–7,000 words of writing, blending formal analysis with reflective work.
