Jonathan Burke was president of Laguna College of Art and Design located in Laguna Beach, California from 2011 – 2020. From 1985 to 2011 he was the dean of fine arts and gallery director at LCAD. During this time he taught freshman through graduate levels in fine arts and continued an exhibition career. While gallery director he brought a Rodin figure sculpture exhibition to the college gallery.

Jonathan’s background is in representational drawing and painting with still life and landscape as his main emphases. He holds a BFA degree in painting from Kansas City Art Institute and an MFA degree in painting from Boston University. His art has been published in “Horses” – From Noble Steeds to Beasts of Burden,” Watson Guptil, “Cats – Wild Cats and pampered Pets,” Watson Guptil NY, and “New Art,” Harry Abrams Publisher, New York, NY.

A native of Kansas City, Jonathan has lived in New York, Boston and San Francisco. He has one child, Alexander – a film and TV composer. Jonathan’s interests include visiting galleries and museums.
