Danielle Samuels Adjunct Faculty
Danielle Samuels is a developmental psychologist, researcher, and educator. She earned her EdM from Harvard University (2012), and her PhD from the University of California Riverside (2018). While pursuing her doctorate, she lived in Laguna Beach and taught several courses at LCAD including Math, Science, & Art, Introduction to Psychology, and Critical Reasoning and Psychology (a co-creation with fellow LCAD professor Grant Hier). Danielle then spent several years as a psychology professor in Amherst, Massachusetts, where her academic research centered broadly on adolescence, mental health, and body image. More recently, her research explores the intersection between psychology and dermatology, or the lived experiences of individuals with skin conditions. Relatedly, she is an advisor and consultant to Clear Health, a digital dermatology clinic with a focus on mental health. Danielle is excited by the connections between psychology, art, design, and literature, and is currently working on various creative projects exploring the intersections between them.
