YOICHI NISHIKAWA: Studio Ghibli Background Artist
LIVE PAINTING WORKSHOP
Fans of Studio Ghibli and analog painting won’t want to miss this exclusive workshop with veteran background artist Yoichi Nishikawa, who worked on such iconic films as Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo, and The Boy and the Heron! Yoichi will lead attendees through a live, hands-on painting workshop demonstrating the workflow and basic painting techniques he used to create some of the most beautiful worlds in animated film over 20+ years.
WORKSHOP INFORMATION
Subjects include sky, clouds, various foliage and other landscape related elements. Yoichi will walk around and help students directly , and interactive Q&A is welcome throughout.
Yoichi will begin with a 10 – 15 min slideshow presentation of his notable past works.
This workshop is for artists with at least a little bit of painting experience who want to learn from one of the masters of animation background painting!
