RECEPTION: MAY 05, 2016, 6-9PM

Laguna College of Art and Design’s BFA program in Animation is proud to present The Art of Story, an exhibition showcasing work by Tom Owens, Sean Bishop and Kelly Hobby-Bishop, three talented story artists who have worked in both feature film and television animation and whose many credits include: How to Train Your DragonSophia the FirstShrekKung Fu PandaThe Tigger Movie and House of Mouse.

Animation story artists are responsible for bringing the intangible to life through drawings. They find visual ways to express emotions and story beats using knowledge of cinematography, acting and editing to help shape what audiences will see on the screen. In a medium where  even one unused frame represents a significant expense, storyboards lay the groundwork for every shot in a film before it is animated.
The Art of Story is curated by David Kuhn, chair of LCAD’s BFA program in Animation.
