Your college experience is defined not only by what school you attend, but also by what surrounds that school.
It’s no secret that Southern California offers something for everyone. You’ll find some of the world’s most famous attractions right here in Orange County: World-class beaches and shopping, Disneyland, and Angels Stadium to name a few. Or, drive just an hour north or south from LCAD’s campus to Los Angeles or San Diego and you’ll discover the world’s best venues for music, art, and food.
LCAD is located in the center of the thriving creative arts industries. The leading art galleries, game developers, animation and entertainment studios, design firms, and action sports brands, are clustered in Southern California. Students at LCAD benefit from elite connections with such industry leaders and partners as Disney, Nike, Blizzard, Hurley, Sony, Etnies, Dreamworks, Warner Brothers, Pixar, and many more. These high-level connections allow LCAD students and alumni preferred access to key internships. Additionally, LCAD hosts an annual Industry Open House (IOH), an event that places the best student work before the eyes of industry leaders: Museum curators, gallery owners, graphic design firms, publishers, animation studios, and game art companies. Because of our distinguished commitment to preparing students for the rapidly changing demands of the creative arts industries, LCAD students are often offered major-specific employment opportunities even prior to graduation.
LCAD offers a Study Abroad Program open to all students. Professor Betty Shelton and Dr. Bill Havlicek lead the annual European tour that offers students the ability to earn 3 units of credit in studio arts or art history. Recent trips have included Italy, Spain, Prague, France, and Great Britain.
