LCAD Scholarship Fund

Donations designated to the Scholarship Fund help LCAD attract and retain the best-and-brightest students, regardless of their financial backgrounds.

Scholarships are awarded based on need and merit and are often the gateway to a degree from LCAD and a career in the creative arts. Scholarship support may take the form of one-time gifts, recurring annual contributions or endowed funds:

Annual and recurring scholarships of $1,000 and above are awarded in the name of the donor (or the donor’s designee) and are generally distributed in the academic year after they are received.

Endowed scholarships are funded with contributions that are invested in perpetuity by the college. A portion of the interest earned is awarded annually. Endowed Scholarships of $25,000 or more will bear the name of the donor (or the donor’s designee).

You can make a contribution online to LCAD’s Scholarship Fund by clicking here or by contacting the Development Office at 949-376-6000 for more information.

JONATHAN BURKE ENDOWED PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, Laguna College of Art and Design (LCAD) celebrated President Jonathan Burke’s 35 years at the College at an intimate plated dinner event at the modern coastal home of Ray and Beverly Redfern. LCAD Trustees, supporters, family and friends attended the event in support of President Burke’s contributions to LCAD as both a longtime professor of Fine Arts and the current president of the College. Guests were invited to view the Redfern’s extensive art collection and their impressive collection of geological samples, including rare rock formations. In honor of his 35 years of service and artistic excellence, LCAD Trustees presented President Burke with a portrait of himself painted by LCAD Fine Arts alumna, Averi Endow. At President Burke’s request, all funds raised at the event went to the Jonathan Burke Endowed Presidential Scholarship. Approximately $50,000 was raised in honor of this new scholarship and of
President Burke’s legacy.
