Now in its 10th showcase since its start in 2017, the project has become an important part of learning about color theory and has gained international recognition, including a feature at the CAA conference.
Unique Approach
“Reinventing Color Systems” is an innovative student project in Professor Xun Chi’s Composition and Color class at LCAD. Each freshman student creates a unique color system that reflects their personal interests while communicating essential color concepts such as hue, value, saturation, color harmony, and the symbolism of colors. Their work ranges from simple 2D diagrams to complex 3D models and interactive designs.
