Program Overview

This exciting one-year, 30-unit program helps prepare students for further study at the graduate level, or it allows them to enhance their portfolios and artistic abilities for other professional endeavors.

In keeping with LCAD's aesthetic philosophy, the Post-Baccalaureate gives students the opportunity to develop individual content in their studio practice while focusing on the skills associated with representational drawing and painting.

We recognize that not all Bachelor's degree programs in art offer instruction in these skills, and our program aims to address this deficit.

Students of LCAD's Post-Baccalaureate in Drawing & Painting program will benefit from rigorous studio work, and from exposure to historical and contemporary practice in the field of representational art.

Goals for the program include an increase in the student's technical proficiency, and assistance in producing a body of artwork that is creative, cohesive, and personal.
