Character animation is the art of creating not only motion but also emotion over time.
Whether working with paper, pixels or puppets, LCAD Animation majors are skilled at shaping compelling, frame-by-frame performances that inspire viewers to accept that the characters on screen are alive with genuine thoughts and sincere emotions.
Our Animation program is dedicated to training exceptional storytellers who understand the entire process of filmmaking from script to screen. Students develop their abilities in traditional animation with classic artistic skills and then enhance that knowledge with fluency in the latest digital tools. LCAD's Animation faculty is comprised of experienced industry professionals who help our students bring characters to life in their own unique styles.
LCAD Animation alumni work at the following animation studios and more: Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks, Laika, Industrial Light & Magic, Warner Bros., Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Fox, South Park Studios, Sony, Renegade Animation, Telltale Games, Titmouse and Obsidian Entertainment.
Every year, LCAD Animation is proud to host the LCAD Animation Film Festival, a theatrical exhibition that showcases the best work from all levels of our animation artists.
