James Galindo (b. 1983) is an emerging young artist from Palm Springs, California. He received his Master of Fine Art Degree from Laguna College of Art + Design in 2009 and now teaches drawing and painting courses at various colleges and ateliers in Southern California. He has been the recipient of multiple scholarships and awards including the "La Quinta Arts Foundation Scholarship," the FRyan Ramirez Memorial Scholarship," "Best of Junior Fine Art" at Laguna College of Art + Design?s Annual Juried Exhibition, the "Passport to China Scholarship" sponsored by the Chinese Contemporary Fine Art Gallery in Laguna Beach, "L. Ron Hubbard?s Illustrators of the Future award," "Best of Show" at the Third Annual Fairhaven Juried Exhibition, the "Albert K. Murray Fine Arts Education Scholarship," and most recently, in 2009, the "John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship" sponsored by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK. James currently lives and works out of his studio in Los Angeles, CA, from which he runs weekly drawing and painting workshops. He began showing at Dawson Cole Fine Art in December of 2009.
