Three LCAD Design Students and Professor Flown to Beijing for Global Youth Design Contest
From more than 2,300 entries from 10 countries and regions around the world three students of Laguna College of Art + Design’s BFA program in Riley Ebel , and William Sato and their professor, Xun Chi, won a Silver award, a Bronze award, the Best Advisor award, and six Merit awards in “The Beauty of Chinese Characters” Global Youth Design Contest 2018.
Celebrity professor, Yu Dan hosted the event that included a special session featuring LCAD's participation:
While in Beijing, Chi, Ebel, Gutierrez, and Sato took in the many sights of Beijing, including a visit to the Forbidden City, Jing Shan Park, 798 Art district, and Old Town Market Yandai Xiejie.
Chi said, “I am grateful to all of the students who participated in this project, and to LCAD’s supportive faculty members. I hope this will broaden our students’ horizons and enrich the international design experience for all students of LCAD’s BFA program in Graphic Design + Digital Media.”
