OUTLOOK/INSIGHT: THE LCAD EFFECT
OUTLOOK/INSIGHT: THE LCAD EFFECT
MFA EXHIBITION | LAGUNA ART MUSEUM | MAY 21-AUGUST 21, 2022 PRIVATE RECEPTION: MAY 20TH, 5:30PM-9:00PM PANEL DISCUSSION WITH EXHIBITING ARTISTS: MAY 21ST, 6:00PM This exhibition is a sampling of the artwork from the 2022 Master of Fine Art graduates from Laguna College of Art + Design (LCAD). The quality, creativity, and individuality are testaments to the dedication and independence of these artists. Remarkable artists are attracted to LCAD because of the understanding that time-honored skill joined with personal contemporary concerns can create vital, memorable art. Outlook/Insight implies that the mindful engagement with the outer visible world builds personal insights that express, not only what things look like, but also what they can make you feel. The rational and the poetic are made apparent to the viewer who takes time to observe and reflect. The LCAD effect refers to the impact that these artists may have on the larger world. LCAD takes the necessary time to nurture and enable artist to find their own voice. No style, template, or doctrine interferes with the personal development that leads to important enduring art. We are delighted to introduce you to Peter Clarke, Lin Hui Ding, Mike Lee, Jill Maytorena, Kelley Mogilka, Ram n Vargas, and Mason Williams. Advance tickets required, and are available at lagunaartmuseum.org/visit Admission is free for members, and membership is free for LCAD students.
