LINE-FORM-MOTION-EMOTION: THE 2D CLASSICAL ANIMATION PROCESS FEBRUARY 6-27 | RECEPTION: THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 6-9PM
Laguna College of Art + Design’s BFA program in Classical Animation presents LINE-FORM-MOTION-EMOTION: The 2D Classical Animation Process, an exhibition showcasing hand-drawn animation sequences encompassing the creative stages of 2D character animation.
This exhibition features rough animation, clean-up animation and final color renditions of animated sequences. Represented mediums include colored pencil and graphite on paper and digitally-painted works. Works from a number of current animation artists are showcased.
Two original drawings by legendary supervising animator Fred Moore from the 1937 Walt Disney feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be on display. Moore’s work exemplifies how line and form processes create motion, resulting in emotionally charged character performance.
