City Hall Exhibition -THE NEW NORMAL
What will it mean to come out of a world-wide pandemic? How do we return to normal? What is normal? Are we fundamentally changed?
Artists are often early responders, canaries in the coal mine, or bellwethers who give form to what we are all feeling. While individuals respond differently to various events, the pandemic is something that has affected us all.
As we reflect on the recent past and consider what comes next, artists express their collective anxieties, aspirations, and escape.
In this Master of Fine Arts exhibit, students from the Laguna College of Art + Design explore their own notion of the new normal, ranging from optimistic celebrations of beauty, communion with nature, as well as personal reactions to disruption and loss.
