Anaheim Ducks Team Up With LCAD Graphic Design + Digital Media »


The ANAHEIM DUCKS are teaming up with LCAD’s BFA program in Graphic Design + Digital Media to develop a comprehensive brand strategy, application and execution for the 2017 Paint it Orange Anaheim Ducks NHL promotional campaign.

Each year, as the Anaheim Ducks approach and participate in the NHL Playoff season, the Ducks corporation engages its fans in Paint it Orange (#PaintItOrange), a comprehensive promotional marketing campaign which includes, arena graphics, signage, rich media, social media and apparel to rally fans to show team support through gearing up in Anaheim Ducks orange.

The class will work side by side with the Anaheim Ducks corporate management to understand the Duck’s brand, brand legacy, fan demographics and promotional needs in order to create:

Print material
– Branded graphic style, point of view and look & feel
– Ticket application
– Signage (internal area and external)
– Applied extensions / Advertising
– Bus shelter graphic and bus kong
– Social media: Twitter and Instagram campaign

All fan wear applications
In-store apparel

The class is comprised of 14 students and will run from January to May. The class is front-loaded to align with the Anaheim Ducks promo schedule as outlined below.

Jan. 24: First Day Of Class
Jan. 31: Brand Immersion: Students meet with Anaheim Ducks management for daylong discovery session and then attend the Ducks vs. Avalanche hockey game.
Feb: 14: First Review Of Creative – Midpoint Review at LCAD
Feb 28: Students present final creative at Ducks
March 7: Creative finalized & delivered
