In this course, students will explore the design and development of games that inspire change, provoke thought, and create a lasting impact on players. “Meaningful Games” focuses on crafting experiences that go beyond entertainment, addressing real-world issues, emotional storytelling, and social challenges through gameplay. Students will examine the mechanics, narratives, and player interactions that make games impactful, analyzing case studies of successful games for change. Through hands-on projects, they will design and develop their own games with a focus on purpose-driven themes, learning how to create engaging experiences that resonate deeply with players and spark meaningful conversations.
