DRAWING PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

LCAD’s Drawing Portfolio Development is appropriate for developing Fine Arts, Illustration, Game Art and Animation portfolios.

  • Saturdays
  • 9 a.m. to noon
  • 10-week sessions
  • Cost: $300
  • Ages: 15 and up, all levels*

 

LCAD’s Portfolio Development Program focuses on creating artwork that would be acceptable for admission to a college or university. Our Saturday program presents an opportunity for you to perfect your observational drawing skills.

 

Using objects from real life, the emphasis is on creating a convincing representation of form and space that is defined by line, value, texture, and proportion. This includes figure drawing, working from both the draped and undraped model.

 

*Note: If you are under 18, a parental/guardian consent signature must be included by parent/legal guardian with regards to the undraped model. Consent signature is included in the registration form.

 

Drawing Portfolio Development schedule:

Summer 2018: June 02nd–August 11th

Fall 2018: TBD

 

Drawing Portfolio Development materials list:

  • 18”x 24” Strathmore 400 series drawing paper
  • 9”×12” or 11’×14” spiral-bound sketch book
  • 23”×26” drawing board with clips
  • One (1) kneaded eraser
  • One (1) small metal pencil sharpener
  • Portable container for holding your materials

GRAPHIC DESIGN PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT

 

LCAD’s Graphic Design Portfolio Development is appropriate for developing Graphic Design + Digital Media portfolios.

  • Saturdays
  • 9 a.m. to noon
  • 10-week sessions
  • Cost: $300
  • Ages: 15 and up, all levels

 

LCAD’s ten-week Graphic Design Portfolio Development program was developed by professional designers to assist students in creating design and digital media work for portfolio submission. Students will work on-campus in state-of-the-art Mac labs.

 

Design theory, communication and concepts will be discussed as students work on class projects geared to the creation of an individual body of work. Photoshop and Illustrator will be used. At the conclusion of the program, students will assemble their best work into a portfolio for presentation to a college admissions committee.

 

Projects will include:

  • Logo and Identity Project
  • Storyboard Development for Motion Media
  • Entry Package Design Project
  • Design and Layout Project
