International Students MFA

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

International Applicants may have additional steps to take in order to be considered for admission to the program.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSCRIPTS

  • All international transcripts must be submitted to IERF for conversion into US equivalents.
  • Drawing and Painting MFA Applicants must submit a "Detailed Report".
  • Game Design MFA Applicants may submit the "General Report".
  • There is a separate fee and time requirement for this service. Please visit the IERF website and plan accordingly.

TOEFL/IELTS TEST SCORE

Applicants whose native language is not English and did not attain their undergraduate degree in the US must take the TOEFL exam and achieve a minimum score of 79 or an IELTS test with a minimum score of 6.

STUDENT VISAS

Once you have been admitted you will receive a formal letter stating so and asking for additional documentation so that we can issue your I-20.

DECLARATION OF FINANCES

Submit a Declaration of Finances Form from you, your parent, sponsor, or sponsoring agency and an official bank statement. The bank statement must show a balance equal to or greater than the cost of attendance at the college for one year (Cost of Attendance may vary year to year—the official amount can be obtained from the Office of Admissions + Financial Aid).

 

 I-20 AND F1 STUDENT VISAS

Upon your acceptance to the MFA program and once LCAD has received your Declaration of Finances and nonrefundable $500 deposit fee, we will send you an I-20 document. The completed I-20 must be taken to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in your country to obtain an F-1 Student Visa.

 

International Game Design MFA applicants interested in attaining a Student Visa and possible OPT upon completion must attend the graduate program in-person. This decision must be declared to the Admissions Office upon making the Enrollment Agreement and submitting the Tuition Deposit.
