For the 2012-2013 academic school year (August 27, 2012 – May 13, 2013), the library will be open:

  Monday – Thursday: 9am-8pm
  Friday: 9am-7pm

Summer 2013 (May 14, 2013 – August 29, 2013), the library will be open:

  Monday – Friday: 12pm-4pm

Image of student in the libraryThe Dennis and Leslie Power Library has a collection of over 18,000 volumes; 84 wide-ranging periodical subscriptions; over 1,400 videotapes and DVDs, including the Gnomon Workshop tutorial series; art exhibition catalogs; a sixteen foot vertical file collection focused on the arts; a special collection of rare and out-of-print books; and the historical archives of the college documenting its fifty year history. In addition, the library also provides access to several art-related electronic databases and journals, including Lynda.com, ARTstor, Grove/Oxford Art Online, Art Full Text, OmniFile Full Text, Rhizome, Ask Art (Academic Edition), and AP Images. Our online catalog indexes the titles, authors and subjects of the cataloged items in the library.

    The library provides students with a way to buy and sell textbooks to each other. You can find the available textbooks next to the new and 3-day reserve shelves, across from the circulation desk.

    Circulation policies and privileges

    Who can check out books from the library?

    Current LCAD students, faculty, staff and alumni in good standing (who do not owe the library more than $5.00 in late fee fines).

    Members of the local community and other non-affiliated individuals may use the library and its materials during open hours but do not have circulation privileges.

    How do I obtain library circulation privileges?

    Fill out a registration form at the circulation desk and show your current LCAD ID.

    How long do materials circulate?

    How many items can I check out?

    You can check out a maximum of 15 items including 3 DVDs.
