Canyon Walkers
July 07 – August 26, 2016
Receptions: July 07, 2016, 6-9PM

Laguna College of Art and Design’s (LCAD) Department of Fine Arts is proud to present Canyon Walkers, an exhibition featuring scaled models and preliminary works showing the process of a monumental, multi-figure sculpture to be installed on LCAD’s historic Main Campus. Viewed in its entirety, Canyon Walkers offers a representation of people often seen walking along Laguna Canyon Road. Figures include The Art Student, The Hiker and Companion, and The Traveler.

The Canyon Walkers project is a group effort between LCAD Fine Arts faculty member, Brittany Ryan and LCAD Fine Arts students Elizabeth Alvarez, Maxwell Gerber, Charles Goering and Atiyah Hess.

A limited edition of 16-inch, bronze maquettes of the sculpture will be available for purchase. Proceeds from sales will help fund the bronze casting of the heroic-sized sculpture that will grace the LCAD Campus at 2222 Laguna Canyon Road.

Also on view is a selection of work produced by LCAD BFA Fine Arts majors.
