My paintings are visual comments that explore our human experience. Galleries nationally and internationally exhibit my work. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art?s, Art Rental and Sales Gallery represents and exhibits a selection of my fine artwork. Globally my commercial work is published and licensed by Art in Motion in Vancouver, Canada. Still Life?s was the first of several educational books that I continue to create with Walter Foster Publishing. The Los Angeles Downtown News has featured me in its Artist Spotlight. Esquire and several other magazines have published my artwork and Coast magazine has featured my work on their cover. My education includes a Master of Fine Arts degree in Drawing and Painting from California State University Long Beach and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration with Honors from Art Center College of Design. Early in my career I worked as a scenic painter in music videos and TV commercials. Creating fifteen-foot by thirty-foot paintings under compressed deadlines was an invaluable experience. Being an instructor at Laguna College of Art and Design, a place that inspires and supports the highest ideals of figurative art, is a rewarding experience. As a native Californian, my perception of our world and its cultural diversity is influenced by travels in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Experiencing the world in a tangible way inspires my work. Now my wife, an artist and teacher, and I live and create in South Pasadena California.
