Live the Dream

Where else can you find image trendsetters in action sports culture, leading video game producers, major film and animation studios, and cutting-edge design firms?

As a student of LCAD, you will immerse yourself in this coveted existence. At dawn, you will surf world class waves of Trestles; ride white circle to double-black-diamond mountain bike trails in Laguna Canyon; skate the Etnies, VANS, or Volcom skate parks; or take a leisurely stroll on one of Laguna Beach’s numerous postcard-perfect coves.  You’ll spend your mornings in modern studios with talented, likeminded peers, world class instructors and visiting lecturers who will challenge and support your artistic growth.  You may intern with Nike, Blizzard, VANS, Hurley, or the Cartoon Network in the afternoon.  And in evenings and on weekends, you’ll attend concerts with your favorite bands and see works of art from the world’s greatest artists at some of the nation’s most heralded museums and galleries. Put simply: You will live the dream.

Nestled within Laguna Beach and surrounded by lush abundance, LCAD’s campus sits next to Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, one of California’s most pristine and scenic natural reserves.

With so many creative industries within your reach, being at LCAD gives you a distinct advantage. DreamWorks, Blizzard, Sony, Disney, Warner Bros., Nickelodeon and many other companies call Southern California home.

We feature several visiting artists, critics, and gallerists from the industry. Chuck Jones—a creator and director for Warner Bros.’ Looney Tunes—was one of the first lecturers for LCAD’s Animation program and helped to inaugurate the Animation BFA program at LCAD.
